Dear TBI,

My name is Ed. I was born with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), which led to my current blindness. Along with RP, I was diagnosed during early childhood with Usher Syndrome, an inner-ear nerve-loss condition that progressed to my present state of profound deafness.

When I was growing up, I did not feel comfortable wearing hearing aids, because the technology was not very good in those days. So, I was taught to read lips instead, which helped me to succeed in high school and later in my university studies.

The one thing I really enjoyed was listening to music. So, I began collecting old vinyl 45's. Although I could not hear the words to the music, I really liked how the songs sounded to me.

After graduating from the university, I purchased two hearing aids. That opened a whole new universe of sound to me. But still, I could only hear few words of the lyrics. My hearing worsened over the years. It wasn’t long before I had to wear even more powerful hearing aids. Their effect was marginal, but that was better than the eternal silence most people with this condition must live with everyday.

All of that changed when I was introduced to speakers made by TBI. I was stunned and amazed by the power and clarity of sounds that came from these speakers. Since I have a high-frequency loss, I am now able to hear sounds that I have long forgotten. The clarity of sound is truly amazing; it is very crisp and detailed. I can now hear most of the words of those old and very memorable records.

TBI speakers allow me to experience for the first time in my life the emotional intensity of music, like bass, which I hear better than other frequencies. Listening to music through these wonderful speakers is like experiencing a live performance. It seems as though my home comes alive as sound explodes from these speakers. As I move from room to room, I still hear the music as though I'm sitting near the stage. What is also amazing is how so much sound emanates from these small, but very powerful speakers.

I have overcome many challenges during my life. For someone who really enjoys music and does not take hearing for granted, I am truly grateful to TBI.

I appreciate the opportunity to hear quality sound.

Thank you TBI!

VaShaun is the president of the Cobb County Empowerment Chapter of the National Federation for the Blind of Georgia organization. They are using the iBAG as a promotional system for raising funds for the NFB as well as making some money for their members who sell them. VaShaun and the other officers of CCEC have their own personal BioLinks Audio Freedom systems.

I am really impressed with how you've packaged the portable BioLinks® Audio Freedom system. This has got to be the first truly portable Hi-Fi system available at a "Boom Box" price. Here's a suggestion that was influenced by Jan's comments about how everything, (even iGoogle™) has an "i" in front of it in the wake of the Apple iPod® revolution. Why don't we call it the iBAG™ system (BioLinks Audio Gear)?

My name is VaShaun Jones and I am a music lover of all music from Jazz to R&B. When I listen to music, I use the BioLinks® Audio Freedom system. I am a blind, aspiring saxophonist and music quality is a must. The setup is easy and the sound quality is phenomenal!!!

I agree that a subwoofer would help any system, but think these "little boys" can put out quite a bit of bass. I use these in a portable system that I dj a weekly music trivia with and everyone is impressed with the amount of bass as well as quality of music these little speakers produce.
Also it's strange to me how if you lay the speakers on the floor pointing upwards the bass actually improves! technical speaker lingo has always gone over my head so I have decided to not ask and just be pleased with what I hear. With these speakers the proof is definitely "in the air"

I appreciated the candor in Adwilk's "review" and told him that in a private message. His original verbal comment to me about the DAD was all positive but he thought the monitors sounded a bit "thin" and needed a subwoofer. I disagreed on the first point but agreed on the second. In fact, what full range loudspeaker doesn't benefit from the addition of a subwoofer... if it is a quality unit?

That being said, I explained some listening evaluation "tests" for these little fellows in an email to Adwilk but no response was ever received. In the category, "How to listen to Majestic Diamond™ loudspeakers, the text of my comments to him is repeated.
