ISOteric™ SERIES - ISO-10HT AUDIOPHILE/HT ACTIVE SUBWOOFER
The ISO-10HT represents the first in the ISOteric™ series of high power
subwoofers developed by TBI Audio Systems using Embedded Transmission
Line Technology (ETL™). The goal for any subwoofer is to deliver acoustic
power to the room with critical damping over its bandwidth. In order to
accomplish this, the amplifier must deliver its power into constant load
impedance. The subwoofer, almost without exception, has very high impedance
peaks in its bandwidth resulting from resonance. The ported speaker has two
resonances within its bandwidth and the sealed box has one both resulting in
artificial bass sound. The only way to solve this problem is the elimination of
resonance as a component of the transducers response. Mass must be kept to a
minimum to prevent delayed response to the input signal while the diaphragm
should operate in an isobaric environment enabling it have an accurate transient
response. The diaphragm requires a constant acoustic load to maintain flat 
electrical impedance for the amplifier. The nominal impedance stated by the other manufacturers is false with reactive high and low extremes experienced throughout the bandwidth while the ISO-10HT maintains its impedance and phase constant throughout its bandwidth. The
complete elimination of phase shifts (zero crossings) below 125Hz make resonance with high-end turntables virtually impossible. Proper bass extension and low frequency special effects are only possible if the subwoofers response is to the signal alone with all resonance
The ISO-10HT addresses the necessary issues for audiophile quality bass extension and natural but powerful home theater effects:
• The impedance is flat not varying as with resonant designs
• The impedance phase is constant with frequency not changing
• The isolated low mass driver does not react with room reflections
• Ease of integration with all quality monitors, full range or stand mounts
